The new Scribe SEO tool, released by the same people behind Thesis and CopyBlogger, is a great assistant for WordPress users to test their content as they write it.
It is coming soon as a stand alone web tool but we tried the WordPress plugin and the results were really helpful.
The amazing thing is, even if you think you are across SEO and know how to write html and content to best position your pages, you still leave stuff out. In using the plugin for a week or so, we were surprised at how many things it picked up after we thought we had taken everything into account when putting together a new post.
It is just like having a little robot looking over your shoulder as you put together posts, checking as you go.
Scribe and WordPress together
Once you install and configure the plugin it adds a new tool to the post page (see image above). When you have finished your content and are ready to go you click ‘Analyze’ and it sends your post data off to be tested. In our tests this usually takes between 10 and 30 seconds.
You’re then presented with a dashboard that floats on top of the WordPress post page, (see screenshot below) that gives you a run down on how it scores your content.

Moving through the tabs you get a review of keywords, html tag and even what your page will look like when displayed on search engine results pages.

Once you review the suggestions you can then have Scribe re-analyze your page content this time you can see if your adjustments have impressed it a little more.
It is competitive out there, so every little advantage you can get should be considered and certainly Scribe steps up to the plate on helping you with SEO. Prices start from $US27 a month and go up from there depending on how many pages you need to be tested, probably not too much to pay in order to get your content in tip top shape.
